How to pack for your kid’s school trip

Schools organize several educational as well as leisure trips to give students a fun-filled break from their studies. These school trips go a long way in keeping the kids youthful and lively. Not only do these trips come as a welcome break from the monotonous routine of the children, they also give students a chance to build closer bonds with their classmates and experience newer environments.

But just like all other kinds of trips, school trips also require wise packing. This responsibility goes straight to the parents, especially if the kids are too small to know what’s important for them. If you’re a first timer and are wondering about the essentials that you must keep in your kid’s bag pack, here is the checklist you should consider.

•First aid kit: You must pack a small first aid kit for your kid for all the small scratches that he might experience during the trip. Although most of the day schools for kids make first aid arrangements on their end for different kinds of mishappenings, pack a personal one for your kid containing things like bandages, pain relievers, antibiotic creams and antiseptics.

•Daily items: Do not miss out on things that your kid uses on daily basis. Pack tooth brush, tooth paste, towel, soaps and slippers.

•Cheap accessories: School trips of course are not the best platforms for showcasing jewelries and accessories. Make sure you do not overload your kid with too much to take care of. Keep only what’s necessary- a cheap waterproof watch and an inexpensive digital camera for example.

•Writing pad: And finally, keep a lightweight journal and some pens so that your kid can jot down his memories when he wants to.

So whether your kid is enrolled in one of the child day schools in Noida or in a boarding school in Gurgaon, you know how to pack for his upcoming school trip.

Does a Boarding School Teach Students to be Independent?

A school holds almost as much of an important place as does one’s home. Till the age of four or five, a child spends all their time within the comforts and safety of their home. The school is, for a child, the first contact with the outside world and education is also given a lot of importance within the society and it is even a fundamental right of every child till the age of fourteen to get free and compulsory education.

The experience of going to a school, however, teaches one more than just the basic knowledge they need to get a job. It also teaches students on how to behave in the outside world, socialise, experiment in different areas, learn of one’s talents and eventually develop on an over-all basis resulting in a well- adjusted being.

The boarding school, which in Indian culture has evolved from the ancient concept of a Gurukul, is where students stay apart from their parents and pursue their education. There are residential schools in India that are known worldwide for their education standards.

Now, in terms of giving the best education, is it considered that boarding schools are better than day schools, one of the reasons is that being independent is something that a boarding is best at teaching its students. When children are away from the safety net of their parents, it urges them to be more disciplined and responsible for their actions.

From having to take care of one’s own class projects and homework, balancing out extra- curricular activities and living a long distance away from parents, all work towards making a child self- sufficient.

That is one of the main cause of their popularity; that it builds strong and capable individuals that do not need to depend on anyone else.

There are many boarding schools in Noida like Genesis and more that provide good residential facilities and education on a global level.
