Boarding school Vs. Day School

Choosing the right educational institute for your child is an important but difficult decision to make. What makes this more confusing is that residential ones can weigh slightly heavy on the quantitative scale, whereas the regular ones have fewer, but some of the very substantial advantages. What will suit your child depends on the kind of values you want to assimilate into your child’s psyche. The basic understanding of the environmental and ethical difference between the two can be of help while deciding.

The normal public schools in Noida, Mumbai, Chennai, and other metro cities have evolved a lot.   Especially within the last decade, public schools in Noida have seen great development. They are offering similar infrastructure and extra-curricular activities that can match the standards offered by the boarding schools in India. The most important advantage of a traditional educational establishment is that the child is under the close supervision of parents, and nothing can be more important to a child than the love and care of a parent. Secondly, the life style is less hectic; a child still has a lot of time to spend on his own, which is unregulated by discipline and rules. Another advantage is that those children who need some extra help in academics can get tuitions and coaching. Affordability is another advantage and regular ones are more economical than the residential educational institutes.

However, the benefits of such educational establishments are also undisputed. Some of the boarding schools in India are of international reputation as well. Diversity is an advantage that day schools don’t afford, but these have students from all over the country and even abroad, the child gets an exposure to vast cultural diversity, which makes them open minded. Then discipline is another advantage, the life here is well disciplined and every hour of the day is scheduled by a strict timetable. This teaches them self-adherence and time-management, which are some of the most essential lessons to be learnt in life. The extra-curricular activities and non-conventional courses offered are unmatched; the student has an option to choose a subject of their choice amongst a vast variety of courses. These factors contribute towards a distinguished and polished personality.

Thus, the pros and cons of both the types of institution are different. Hence the choice should be made wisely.
